The MR MSE (Mecham Racing/MotorSport
Edition) Trans Am

These were awesome cars, I think I want one now after writing this! The trade mark for all MR MSE Trans Am's would be the 2 tone paint job that they all received. Other features were things like a front spoiler, large rear spoiler, MSE sail panel emblems, MR center caps and a hood emblem.
All MR MSE's were equipped with WS6 suspension and optional was the "Tallon Suspension" which had stiffer springs, urethane sway bar bushings, additional front cross member, Koni adjustable shocks, rear droop limiter straps, Firestone tires on modern wheel 15" x 7" alloys or special "Diamond-spoke" alloy rims. This suspension was capable of .90 to .95g on the skidpad. Inside included a "Duesenberg-like" leather-wrapped steering wheel (with MR insert), Motorola sound system, 160+ MPH speedometer, 8000+ RPM tach (both with MR Logos), Recaro seats, and dash or console plaque. There was the "Git Kit" that included a 600 Holly carb, aluminum intake, Mallory distributor, coil spark plug wires and Champion spark plugs, a low restriction air cleaner, Tri-Y headers, and a special Y pipe.
These are the other high performance options: Doug Nash 5-Speed, non-EGR Edelbrock intake, Lear-Seagler leather seats, and an outrageous 440 HP 406 small block! Only 50 of these 1984 MR MSE T/A's car were built though.
Here are the production numbers for the MR MSE Trans Am's:
1982: 500
1983: 150
